What is Reiki?

Before I began learning about healing modalities and spiritual paths, I was desperate for a solution that would cure me. Medically and psychologically there is no cure for what ails me. Sadly, the damage is done. Well at least according to the modern medicine way of thinking. In short I was diagnosed with Chronic Posttraumatic Stress Disorder. Meaning I live with anxiety, detachment, fear, hypervigilance, catastrophic style thinking (imaging the worse case scenario), and depression. Notice I said “live with.” Now that is recovery, at one time I said “suffer from.”

It has taken me 26 years of daily recovery steps to learn how to do more than manage my life. There is a cure for what ails us. However, it is not instant. You do know there is no such thing as instant? Right? Consider the concept for a moment. Instant means immediately, that very instant. Impossible. There is always a delay between the idea and the action. Even a micro of a second is a delay. A bit of word play.

Concepts are important, words and their meanings are important. It is how we define our life, how we feel, what we think, our reactions and beliefs. One word can make the difference in someone’s life. And not just the word, the tone used to verbalize it. Remember George Carlin? He did a full skit about how the meaning changes to a phrase or a word depending on how it is said? Your tone of voice, body language, facial expressions, or lack thereof makes the difference in how one hears what you say.

When we read we invoke our beliefs into the content. Our emotions are mirrored through the words on a page. And so are mirrored in our daily actions. Why do I say all this? To bring you to this point:

Reiki is a universal energy force that anyone in this world can use to heal their life. Now here is where the last few paragraphs mean something. If you have never experienced alternative healing methods, you won’t believe me. If you have grown up surrounded by people who make fun of those who practice Yoga, meditation, energy healing modalities like Reiki, mediums, psychics, etc, then you are utilizing your perceptions.

Now I ask you: How do you know it is all hocus pocus, nonsense, fake, a rip off, or any other negative style phrase? And for the opposite: How do you know it is real?

The way to tell if something is real is to try it out a few times. There were naysayers at every invention, discovery, and medical find. There is always someone to counter your belief, just as I can counter your belief now.

When I discovered Reiki, alternative methods of healing which include meditation and Yoga, my life began to heal. I could see the changes occurring. After over 10 years of anti-depressants, I am free of them. Now that is a miracle. With the alternative methods of healing, I opened the door to many other wonders of this world in healing. Creating a new way of life for me. As I learned how to listen to my inner self, allow a dialogue to exist, and release the energy that has been trapped for years, I moved beyond victim and survivor to THRIVE.

It is possible to heal. There are countless stories about miracle healing. Again, not instant. It takes time, dedication, and most importantly a fertile imagination. Yes, I said imagination. Coupled with listening.

My Reiki Teacher was interviewed and her words can be found here. Her style of Reiki is very simple to learn and use. There are no complicated hand gestures or special requirements to utilizing the natural healing force already within you.

I offer attunements to Kundalini & Practical Reiki. It takes a few minutes of meditation. I send you full instructions and support you on your healing journey. Please contact me now to learn more and begin your life healing journey. It is a FREE consult. It does work if you let it work for you.

Bless you.
